EASTER TRAGEDY: Truck Kills 8years Old Girl in America

Slow down and think about what you’re doing before getting behind the wheel.

That’s the message from NSW Police Force crash experts who have worked through a horror Easter long weekend, that saw an eight-year-old girl killed and six others badly injured in a crash on the Central Coast.

Police believe a Holden Astra aqua-planed and spun into the path of an oncoming ute on Wyee Road, Doyalson last night.

Eight-year-old Piper was flown from the scene to the Children’s Hospital with critical injuries but died this morning, bringing the national Easter road toll to 14.

Her mother, 31-year-old Chantelle Boddy, two brothers and grandmother were also injured in the crash.
One of the boys, aged nine, is still in a critical condition and is reportedly fighting for his life in hospital. All of them had to be cut from the wreckage of the mangled vehicles.

NSW Traffic and Highway Patrol Commander, Assistant Commissioner John Hartley, urged motorists to be safe.
"Please, before you get into your car today, talk to each other, make the commitment to whoever is in your car or on your bike, that they are your responsibility," Assistant Commissioner Hartley said.

"Don't become distracted, don't drive faster than you should, and for everyone's sake - don't become complacent."

He warned drivers returning home from the long weekend to expect delays and be patient.

Warwick Milham’s wife was also badly injured in last night’s crash.

He echoed the police call to slow down.

“Just slow down people, just think of the other driver, think of the other family in the car,” he said.
